Our Provisions

To deliver our vision and build a meaningful skills-based curriculum, we offer two connected provisions:

Wayfinders Outpost (on site) and Wayfinders Portal (online).

Together, they provide flexible, inclusive learning experiences that meet learners where they are and support individual journeys of growth.

Online Provision

Wayfinders Portal

Our platform is a modern solution, not a traditional e-learning program. Designed for young people who think differently, we provide accessible, balanced, and engaging learning experiences that help students develop critical thinking, creativity, and confidence.

We believe education should empower every learner to grow and contribute to their community. That’s why we offer:

  • Balanced Alternatives: Real-life examples of successful entrepreneurs and creatives who followed diverse paths.

  • Global Perspectives: Exposure to different ways of approaching work, finance, and community.

  • Critical Thinking: Tools to evaluate ideas, challenge bias, and counter harmful online narratives.

Rooted in affordability, sustainability, and community growth, our goal is simple: to nurture thoughtful, informed individuals who can shape a better world, where every learner, like every seed, helps the whole forest thrive.

The portal goes beyond the classroom. Education is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why Wayfinders also offers online courses and small, flexible learning packages for families and schools. These are designed to fill the gaps in the traditional curriculum helping students discover their passions, develop resilience, and prepare for the challenges and opportunities of their future.

Onsite Provision

Wayfinders Outpost

Wayfinders’ Outpost will be an innovative, small educational setting with just 6-12 students per year group (Years 7–11), designed to offer an entirely different approach to learning. Rooted in a Forest School ethos, our outdoor-focused programme brings education into nature, linking directly to our core values of autonomy, growth, community, and uniqueness.

Students will experience intergenerational learning, with older adults joining some sessions to share wisdom, skills, and stories, creating a rich environment where the wider community is welcomed in.

Research shows that outdoor spaces improve wellbeing, creativity, and focus and our vision is to build a space where young people can thrive before school trauma takes hold, offering a consent-based, trauma-informed environment from the very beginning.

After 10 years working in secondary schools, seeing the system fail many young people, I wanted to create a place where skills, independence, and confidence are nurtured from the start. Our skills-based curriculum equips learners for their next steps while fostering curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning.

A Day at Wayfinders Outpost

No two days are the same in consent base settings but an example of what the day can include could be:

Morning: Organised outdoor activities building, exploring, creating, and learning practical skills.

Lunch: Shared meals gathered around the fire to eat, chat, and connect, learning life skills alongside academic and practical growth.

Afternoon: Free-flowing sessions, allowing students to follow their interests, work collaboratively, or reflect quietly.

Tools & Space: Time to slow down, reflect, and connect with nature, encouraging mindful engagement in a fast-paced world.

Timings & Term Structure:

Designed to meet the needs of both young people and parents, balancing school days with flexible start/end times and term schedules that support family life.

Curriculum & Intent:

This provision will link seamlessly to our skills-based curriculum and overarching curriculum intent, which can be found in the link below The focus will remain on equipping young people with the practical, social, and emotional skills they need to succeed in life in and beyond the classroom.
